Laurie Bartley

Intrigued by family photo albums and inspired by his father’s amateur photography practice, Laurie Bartley grew-up taking photographs. Bartley’s passion for cinema began to inspire and shape his Fashion Photography. Initially experimenting with film lighting, Bartley started applying techniques more familiar with Film Directors & Cinematographers, to his process. Establishing his Mise en Scène, with the use of character building, set design, props and special effects, Bartley’s fashion images began to resemble film stills where models were actors, high fashion was costume and poses were acts. With a strong array of interesting projects, including publications and features on editorials and advertising campaigns, Bartley is currently writing and directing a series of mini short films entitled "Stories from the city" to be released later in 2020.
