Leyla Schick

With a background in interior design, Schick discovered a love for painting after taking a course at The Art Students League of New York with Martin Knox. She later studied at the Ceruleum School in Lausanne, Switzerland after completing iconography in Lausanne and in Lebanon at the Saint-Sauveur Monastery.


Schick works with different materials including wood and canvas, oil, pastels, and mixed media. She has hosted several art workshops in Lebanon and Switzerland, teaching countless students art education and theory.


This piece was created as a reflection on the explosion that took place in Beirut on August 4th, 2020.
