Lucy Soni

Lucy Soni's work captures the spontaneous mark making of children through her classically trained eye. She plays with the relationship between a child’s mark making and abstraction, as well as the friction between the freedom of childhood expression and the process of reproduction by a trained artist to create her carefully balanced compositions. Soni aims to unite high art, popular culture and the natural urge to mark make.

Soni has shown her works at a number of galleries and institutions since 1995, including Davis Street Gallery, London, Marle Place Gallery, Kent, Virgil DeVoldere Gallery, New York, The Art Works Galleries, Newcastle, Spaceman Gallery, London, ,  The Sophie Croxten Doll House Gallery, London, and DVF Gallery, New York.
