Luo Brothers

Working collectively the three Luo Brothers—Luo Wei Dong, Luo Wei Bing and Luo Wei Guo—create prints and sculptures that incorporate traditional Chinese symbology with icons of Communism, capitalism and mass consumption. All highly skilled craftsmen, the Luo Brothers interweave fat baby cherubs, soda cans and fast food products into their Pop-inspired work. The brothers’ often create political juxtapositions in their imagery, using the face of Mao and iconography from the Cultural Revolution to draw attention to the current political climate of China.

The Luo Brothers have shown their work in a number of galleries and exhibitions worldwide including Yang Gallery, Beijing, China, Eli Klein Fine Art, New York, Ray Hughes Gallery, Sydney Australia, Dolored de Sierra Gallery, Madrid, Spain, Sara Meltzer Gallery, New York, Aldrich Contemporary Art Museum, Ridgefield, Conneticut, Berkeley Art Museum, Berkeley, CA, MIT List Visual Arts Center, Cambridge, MA, Museo Tamayo Arte Contemporneo, Mexico City, Mexico, and the TEDA Contemporary Art Museum, Tianjin, China, among others.
