    About The Work

The deep blue tones that permeate this photograph, colors that are usually associated with calm, depth, and serenity, contrast sharply with the pleading eye of Maus the dog, who appears to be on the lookout. The photograph is funny at first because we recognize Maus’s expression; but it quickly becomes melancholic when we realize that we empathize with him as well.
