Miyoshi Barosh

Miyoshi Barosh is a conceptual artist based in Los Angeles who works in a wide range of materials and techniques. Fabric, Plexiglas, foam, fiberglass, paint, and found objects are used together with acrylic yarn and polyester knits from discarded clothing. Vernacular craft processes and folk traditions in combination with digital technologies raise socio-economic questions about women's labor and other cultural conceits.

Barosh’s work has been exhibited in Los Angeles, New York, and Miami, most recently in Feel Better, her second one-person show with the gallery Luis De Jesus in Los Angeles. Other exhibitions include Woman, War, and Industry at the San Diego Museum of Art and Size Really Does Matter at the Los Angeles Municipal Art Gallery at Barnsdall Park.
