    About The Work

    Through drawing and mark-making, Nancy Agati investigates geometry, explores elements of growth, and seeks to reveal a sense of order or elegance. She is interested in the organic nature of line and the layering of shape and form. The imagery or objects she transcribes are derived from the natural world. 

    Agati's Undercurrent series of mixed media works on paper emphasize the overlay of brushwork and intricate lines, drawn with handmade clay or slate-based paint, ink, and polymer. These works combine an array of organic forms with patterns of the flow and formation of water currents.
