About The Work
Flowerage with Blue #1 is a lyrical, nature inspired soft ground and aquatint monoprint. It is printed on 100% cotton rag paper, signed in pencil lower right corner.
Working with images observed from nature, Nancy Lasar uses drawing, painting and printmaking processes. Critics have described her work as "drawing with light", "condensed energy and flow", "calm and crazy", and "organized chaos". Through layering and erasing, Lasar emphasizes the interconnectedness of life with a sense of dynamic movement - addressing issues of transformation and time. Lasar has exhibited widely throughout New England and New York. This includes group and one person shows in the Bruce Museum, the New Britain Museum, The Silvermine Guild, the DeCordova Museum and The International Print Center, NYC. Her work is in the collections of Pfizer Corp, The General Mills Corp, Aetna Life and Casualty and The Center for Contemporary Printmaking, NYC.
