About The Work

Artist Neil Beloufa often creates installations that incorporate video, providing durational content to inform his static work, and a rich context in which to view his video work. Data for Desire (Rationalized Room Series) functions as a line drawing in three dimensions. Iron rebar creates several standing grids that act as anchors for iron drawings of shoes, a pair of legs, a cat, and a window. Bases made of clear resin and cigarette butts hold the installation upright. A monitor embedded in the iron grid plays a video; audio is expressed through headphones.
