    About The Work

Suggestive of a piece of subterranean engineering, Infrastructure #1 (a lithograph made in an edition of 12) is both modular and chaotic, balanced neatly between compartmental organization and sprawling dispersion. The dynamic crop of this work makes it seems as though Nicola Lopez’s diagrammatic plan could extend infinitely in every direction. Meanwhile, the use of varied shades of blue suggests a coded meaning beyond simple decorative embellishment.
