Nina Urlichs

Nina Urlichs is a German artist who deals with themes revolving around the human body. With inspiration stemming from dance and theater, Urlich creates her own visual language of abstract calligraphy in order to capture the expressive nature of the human figure. Urlichs' work is a metaphor for the life cycle, with faded traces of paintings, destroyed collages, and washed out colors on transparent canvas or paper. Through this artistic process Urlich explores the relationship between the intimate universe and the human anatomy.

Urlichs has exhibited work within group exhibitions at MvVO ART in New York, Biennale européenne le 4 Art in Paris, and the New Artists in London. Urlichs has completed artist residencies in Chengdu, China and 59 Rivoli in Paris. Urlichs’s work has also been published in the Journal de Troyes, l’Annuarle OFF, and Artscene Magazine in France.
