About The Work

The grandeur and spectacle of the Adriatic coastline is subdued and miniaturized in this photograph by Olivo Barbieri, who realized the dramatic aerial view by shooting from a helicopter. A master of the tilt-shift lens, Barbieri used the tool to capture groups of beachgoers in the shallow blue water— all engaged in various ritualistic and aerobic dances.
