Pablo López Luz

Photographer Pablo Lopez Luz was born in 1979 in Mexico City. His work explores and documents the Mexico City landscape, where he lives and works. Luz is interested in landscape as a representation of "how people relate or the nature of people themselves" without necessarily including figures in his work. His photographs celebrate the beauty of natural landscapes and reflect his infatuation with the expansiveness of land as viewed as a child from above.  
Luz's work has appeared internationally in numerous group shows and solo exhibitions at museums and galleries including SFMOMA in San Francisco, The Museum of Modern Art in Mexico City, Carrillo Gil Contemporary Art Museum in Mexico Cirt, Casa del Lago Museum in Mexico City, Musee Quai de Branly in Paris, Instituto Cervantes in Madrid, Centro Fotográfico Alvarez Bravo in Oaxaca, the Museum of Modern Art in Moscow, Sasha Wolf Gallery in New York, and more. He has recieved countless awards and grants for his work including the Velazquez Grant, the Jovenes Creadores Grant, and The IILA Photography Award, the Programa Arte Actual Grant. His work has been featured in FOAM Magazine, Peeping Tom's Digest, National Geographic, Courier Magazine, and City Magazine.
