Nottingham Contemporary is an international art centre with a strong sense of local purpose. Our exhibition programme has been described as "constantly inventive" by The Observer.
Nottingham Contemporary is one of Britain’s leading centres for contemporary art. David Hockney, Thomas Demand, Marvin Gaye Chetwynd, Mika Rottenberg, Carol Rama, Danh Vo, Huang Yong Ping, Jack Goldstein and Mark Leckey are some of the artists who have had solo exhibitions at Nottingham Contemporary in recent years.
Our program is equally known for its group exhibitions, such as Aquatopia, which explored the imaginary of ocean deep, and Encounters and Collisions - a curatorial debut by Glenn Ligon, which presented 45 major artists who have influenced Ligon’s own practice.
We are delighted to showcase a number of limited editions made by artists who have exhibited with us. All proceeds from our editions support our artistic and educational programmes, which attract around 160,000 visitors a year.
