Nottingham Contemporary is an international public art gallery based in the heart of Nottingham City Centre. Our exhibition programme has been described as "constantly inventive" by The Observer and "The most inspiring gallery in the UK" by The Guardian.
Since opening in 2009 we have worked with and exhibited some of the worlds most reowned contemporary artists. Artists include David Hockney, Thomas Demand, Marvin Gaye Chetwynd, Francis Stark, Danh Vo, Huang Yong Ping, Anne Collier, Pablo Bronstein and Mark Leckey plus many more.
Our program is equally known for its group exhibitions, such as The House of Fame, An exhibition convened by Linder Sterling, and Encounters and Collisions - a curatorial debut by Glenn Ligon, which presented 45 major artists who have influenced Ligon’s own practice.
We are delighted to showcase a number of Benefit Artists' Editions created for us by artists who have exhibited with us since we have opened. All proceeds raised through the sales of these editions creates vital funding support for our artistic and educational programmes.
