Pauline Curnier Jardin

Conflating popular and scholarly references, Pauline Curnier Jardin creates eccentric scenarios presented as installations, performances, or films that address and subvert grand historical and mythical narratives, such as the Allegory of the Cave, World War I, or the Nativity from a personal and mischievous perspective. 


Her work has been presented internationally at Fondation Cartier, Paris, MIT List Visual Center, Cambridge, Haus der Kulturen der Welt, Berlin, Palais de Tokyo, Paris, Centre Georges Pompidou, Paris, Musée d’Art Moderne, Paris, and ZKM Museum of Contemporary Art, Karlsruhe. She is a currently resident at Rijksakademie in Amsterdam. Curnier Jardin was a Performa 15 commissioned artist.
