About The Work

In the 1960s, artist Richard Artschwager wrote, “Sculpture is for the touch, painting is for the eye. I wanted to make a sculpture for the eye and a painting for the touch.” His 2004 print and mixed media work Zeno’s Paradox is in line with that original impulse—the tangible rubberized horsehair at left stands in spectacular contrast to the flat, comic-like set of prints to the right.
