Roman Schramm

Roman Schramm’s photographs and artist books combine the traditional genres of portrait and still life with elements from advertisement shots. The artist exaggerates and partially subverts commercial strategies, for example, aligning five shiny bullets or capturing the detail of a brand new boat motor as if they were desirable luxury goods.

He has had solo exhibitions at Komplex / Studio in Berlin, Contemporary Art Museum in St. Louis, WCW Galerie in Hamburg, Galerie Croy Nielsen in Berlin, and Kunstverein Hildesheim. His work has been included in group exhibitions at institutions such as Museum Für Konkrete Kunst in Ingolstadt, Kunsthaus Dresden, Goethe Institut Madrid, and Kunstverein Köln.
