Rosanda Sorakaité

Rosanda Sorakaité celebrates the aesthetics of slow life. Using traditional painting methods, her work emphasizes slowness in content, materiality and technique. She investigates lightness and is interested in drawn out time. Her attention to detail magnifies ordinary moments and conveys them with extreme subtlety, and sensitivity for light and space. Moments and banal objects are contemplated and then re-discovered as intimate delights and reflections. Sorakaite’s haunting, tiny, and large scale compositions communicate the instability of speed and the strength in being present.
