Salvo

Salvatore Mangione, better known as Salvo (Leonforte, Enna, 1947 -Turin, 2015) is perhaps one of the most cryptic and fascinating characters in the history of Italian art of the 20th century. A restless, eclectic artist, who created unique artworks in which there is no human presence, like in many De Chirico's works, his great master and inspirer.

Salvo’s eclectic journey - from the beginnings in the contest of Arte Povera (“Poor Art”), to an American-inspired Conceptualism, and then finally returning to the figure and the landscape - is beautifully reflected in his timeless artistic production.
