    About The Work

Clusters of architectural form engage with one another against a background of shadowy periwinkle blue in this sizable lithograph on rice paper by multimedia artist Sarah Sze. Much like Sze’s sculptural systems, which use everyday objects and architectural structure as markers of human behavior and memory, this two-dimensional print addresses the transformative nature of space. The connection between each amorphous structure is emphasized by a directional overlay of red line work, which along with the shape of the paper evokes the pictorial narrative of kakemono scroll paintings.
