Thor Vigfússon

Thor Vigfusson makes colorful translucent wall objects made from glass, plexiglass, mirrors, and Formica. These deceptively simple glassworks are in a constant state of flux, dependent on the dance of light and the movement of the viewer. Though he hails from Iceland, Vigfusson's slick and reflective wall pieces recall the "finish fetish" aesthetic of West Coat minimalists like John McCracken, DeWain Valentine, and Larry Bell. Vigfusson has had numerous solo exhibitions at I8 Gallery and the Living Art Museum in Reykjavik.
