New York-based experimental filmmaker Tin Ojeda’s new series for Daata Editions ‘New Age Let Down’ is a montage of images in both colour and monochrome displayed against an eclectic soundtrack of improvisational jazz, rock and dissonant noise. Inspired by his ongoing fascination with vintage 1970s film-making, Ojeda captures the scenery in a grainy texture characteristic to his films which lends them an almost nostalgic feel, while reflecting his interest in the world's social and political situations. The jazz / punk in the background enhances the almost physical effect the films have on the viewer.
