About The Work
Sharing stories and blessings around the dining table.
Up the maximalist vibes of any dining table with Yinka Ilori’s IJO TABLECLOTH, a bright and wonderful celebration of culture and togetherness.
The word “ijo” in Yoruba translates to “dance”. This artwork celebrates London’s colorful history. Over centuries Caribbean rum, coffee, sugarcane, tobacco, and tropical fruit would arrive by ship into the city’s Royal Docks. Imbued with a sense of joy, the pattern celebrates this cultural exchange through the art of storytelling. Look closely and notice the abstract pineapples within the clashing colors and striking shapes.
Crafted in Portugal, the tablecloth has been tightly woven from 100% pure cotton, adorned with an intricate, geometric jacquard motif. Designed for longevity, this tablecloth is both durable and hard-wearing, perfect to brighten up any dining table.
