EXPO CHICAGO Unveils Its 2014 Exhibitor List

EXPO CHICAGO Unveils Its 2014 Exhibitor List
EXPO CHICAGO at Navy Pier in 2013

From September 18 to 21, EXPO CHICAGO will return to its now-familiar stomping ground in the Windy City’s Navy Pier Festival Hall on the shores of Lake Michigan. Now in its third year, the fair has bumped its number of exhibitors from last year's 125 to 137 international galleries, including 115 in the main section of the fair and 22 younger exhibitors displayed in the Exposure section, in slightly smaller single or two-artist booths.

As with last year, many familiar faces are returning to the fair—including David Zwirner Gallery, Chicago’s Corbett Vs. Dempsey, Los Angeles's Honor Fraser, Berlin’s Isabella Bortolozzi Galerie, New York's On Stellar Rays and San Francisco's Jessica Silverman Gallery—which makes sense, given the strong sales reported at both the fair's 2012 and 2013 editions. There are also plenty of newcomers, from as far afield as Tokyo (Whitestone Gallery and Shoichiro/Galerie Sho Contemporary Art) and Knokke-Zoute in Belgium (André Simoens Gallery).

Business at the fair was reportedly up last year from its inaugural edition, attracting collectors from Chicago to Mexico City. Fair Director Tony Karman and his team are expecting another rise in business and attendance this year, due to an incredible roster of exhibitions and events coinciding with the fair that include the Sarah Charlesworth and René Magritte exhibitions at the Art Institute of Chicago and the 'David Bowie Is...' Gala and exhibition at Chicago's Museum of Contemporary Art. Meanwhile, Expo's venue is experiencing an upgrade, with extensive renovation currently underway at Navy Pier that began just after last year’s fair wrapped up (though it isn’t expected to be completely finished until the summer of 2015). The full exhibitor list for EXPO CHICAGO 2014 appears below.
