Believe it or not, the 2014 art season is already upon us. To launch the new year, galleries across Chelsea hosted crowds who congregated around the visual hearths of art, glad to escape the Polar Vortex. Mixed Greens and Pavel Zoubok Gallery took the slow season as an opportunity to present a vivifying tribute to the late art dealer, collector, and Warhol muse Holly Solomon, containing exceptional pieces by the artists she championed, like Nam June Paik, Mary Heilmann, and William Wegman. Galerie Lelong debuted new work by the artist Emilio Perez, De Buck Gallery opened a show of photos by Andrea Tese, and Casey Kaplan presented new work by conceptual artist Jason Dodge. Continuing shows include Tony Feher's celebrated return to Sikkema Jenkins & Co. and Matthews Weinstein's vibrant drawings at Carolina Nitsch
