About The Work
As part of a larger project, MineralSkin investigates the possible relationship between emotion and science, intimacy and genetics and the reordering of natural processes, as well as social stigmas. The work is a sculptural statement about the junctions between worlds, the connection between mineral and human—dissected carefully, and like in biological studies, set into a oak wood hand-made showcase. Hand-folded by Origami specialists, MineralSkin is created to appear as the skin of a mineral structure and the structure of a biological skin, a magical halo of colored light on the background makes the piece seem to be floating in the air.
