EMMANUELE VINCIGUERRA Chief Executive Officer
Emmanuele Vinciguerra has 20 years of experience in operational management, brand building and retail experience in the US and in Europe. Most recently, she ran The Conran Shop in the U.S. where she oversaw merchandising, brick and mortar and ecommerce operations. Prior to The Conran Shop, she served as CEO for Surevolution, a start-up producing, distributing and selling online sustainable artisan-made accessories. Previously Emmanuele had a 10 year career with LVMH where she held merchandising and operations positions for Louis Vuitton Malletier and LVMH department stores. She started her career as a management consultant with Bain & Company. She holds a Degree from ESSEC Business School and a MBA from Harvard University
CHARLES EVERS Chief Technology Officer
Charles Evers is an expert at building and leading development teams to deliver scalable web architectures for online properties. He has over 20 years experience building solutions for e-commerce, finance and media businesses. Charles joined Artspace from Thomson Reuters where he served as Vice President, Global Solutions Development. Previously, he served in technical management roles at Dow Jones and eMeta Corp. Charles holds a bachelor’s degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Clarkson University.
ANDREW M. GOLDSTEIN Editor-in-Chief
Andrew is a journalist who has covered art and the art market for publications including New York magazine, Art + Auction, Modern Painters, the New York Observer, the Art Newspaper, and Portfolio. Prior to joining Artspace he was the editor of Artinfo; prior to that he was a crime reporter in Chicago and worked on an archeological dig at Morgantina, an ancient Greek colony in Sicily.
PATTON HINDLE Director, Gallery and Institutional Partnerships
With a passionate and deep knowledge of contemporary art, Patton Hindle leads our gallery and institutional partnerships. Prior to joining Artspace, she was the Director at DODGEgallery, a Lower East Side program she helped open, run and build. Before DODGE, Hindle was the Gallery Manager of judi rotenberg gallery, Boston. Patton was raised in London and moved to Boston to attend Boston College where she received her bachelor’s Degree in Art History and English. She has curated gallery exhibitions in New York and Boston and has also spoken at Women to Watch, honoring notable women artists. She actively serves as an ArtTable Mentor to young female professionals in the arts.
GABRIELA LUPULESCU Director of Product Management
Gabriela serves as Director of Product Management for Artspace. She has over 10 years of experience in software development and product management. Before her time at Artspace, Gabriela worked as a product manager at Elsevier and Medidata Solutions and a programmer for Nature America. Gabriela is an active member of The Product Group, a special interest network with over 9,000 members. She holds a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Bucharest, and is an avid reader and cyclist.
WHITNEY MAXWELL Marketing Director
Whitney comes to Artspace after a two year position at Blouin Artinfo where she worked in both online ad sales and digital marketing. Prior to her role there, she was a project manager for Novo Arts, an art production group devoted to making art accessible to businesses and public spaces. She has also worked with several top galleries in New York, and alongside a private dealer for 2 years before receiving her Masters. She has a BA in Art History from St. Lawrence University and MA in Art Business from the Sotheby's Institute of Art.
HANNAH FLEGELMAN Private Sales Director
Hannah joined Artspace to cultivate the private sales program for VIP clients, including top collectors and art and design professionals. Previously, she managed an esteemed private contemporary art collection. She also held positions with Paula Cooper Gallery, Elisabeth Wingate Art Advisory, and Christie’s Post-War and Contemporary Art. Hannah is the founder of Art Cart NYC™, a mobile exhibition space that brings immersive art installations to the streets of New York City. In 2011, the White House’s Young Americans Program recognized Art Cart’s efforts for inspiring change in its community. She earned her BA and MA in Art History and Visual Arts Administration from New York University.
SAMANTHA BEST Copywriter
Samantha is an independent curator and art writer. Prior to joining Artspace, she worked for six years as Studio Manager to interdisciplinary artist Sanford Biggers and held positions with Dia Art Foundation, The Wassaic Project, and David Zwirner Gallery. She earned her B.A. in Art History from Virginia Commonwealth University and is currently a M.A. student in Art History at Hunter College where her research focuses on the impact of the Internet and social media on contemporary art and exhibitions.
MAYA HARDER-MONTOYA Art Copy Editor
Maya is a writer and editor with a background in art history and critical theory. Raised in Southeast Asia and the Middle East, she returned to the United States in 2007. Prior to joining the Artspace staff she was a studio manager and an Editorial Intern at Artforum Online, where she also contributed as a freelance critic, reviewing New York gallery shows. She has written for Blouin Art+Auction Magazine, as well as several academic journals. She holds a B.F.A. in Visual and Critical Studies from the School of Visual Arts and is currently working on a book project related to contemporary mythology.
MAKEDA HINDS Collection Services Manager
Makeda brings to her role a B.A. in Art History and has worked within the online art market for the last five years. Prior to that she lived abroad teaching English in South Korea and traveling through South America.
DYLAN KERR Associate Editor
Dylan is a writer based in Brooklyn. He holds a degree in Media Studies from Vassar College. Prior to joining Artspace, he worked for BOMB magazine, Badlands Unlimited, Flow Advisory, and other art/publishing businesses. Areas of interest include the crossovers between art and science, computer generated imagery, and the use of nonhuman actors in art.
PAUL LEWIS Designer
With 5 years of experience working in brand development and BFA studies from Virginia Commonwealth University in both Graphic Design, and Crafts and Materials, Paul Lewis brings a unique combination of skills to the Artspace team. Always striving for personal and professional growth through applying the design practices and philosophies acquired over the years to solve the challenges we are faced with in daily life.
SARA PERRY Software Engineer
NESSIA POPE Curator
Bringing 25 years of curatorial experience to the team, Nessia Pope has organized, among others, survey exhibitions of Andy Warhol, Roy Lichtenstein, Bruce Nauman, Keith Haring, Nan Goldin, Hiroshi Sugimoto, Larry Clark, Ralph Gibson and has written the accompanying catalogue essays. Pope also organized four exhibitions on contemporary Brazilian design for R&Company, in NY. Since 1990, the Brazilian-born New Yorker has produced more than 200 editions with an international mix of artists at affordable prices. She has published a guide book in Brazil on the New York art world, titled “Manhattan: Contemporary Art and beyond” and is working on a new book with BEi editors to come out next fall. Most recently, Pope was part of the curatorial team for “New Territories” an exhibition that opened at the Museum of Arts and Design under the leadership of Lowery Sims. Pope is on the advisory board of the Collective design fair. She has also served on the cultural council of her beloved Mangueira samba school. Pope holds an MBA from New York University.
MAUREEN RAGALIE Partner Relations Administrator
Maureen is an art world professional with experience in galleries, museums, and arts organizations. Prior to joining Artspace, she worked at contemporary art galleries in New York City, including David Zwirner, and Cristin Tierney, and at the Science Museum of Minnesota. She holds an M.A. in Museum Studies from NYU, and a B.A. in Classical Archaeology from Macalester College.
KAREN ROSENBERG Deputy Editor
Karen Rosenberg is an art journalist, editor, and critic. Prior to joining Artspace she wrote for the New York Times on a weekly basis, reviewing museum and gallery shows in and around New York. She has also been a Contributing Editor at New York magazine and has written for many other publications. She holds a M.A. in Modern Art and Critical Studies from Columbia University and a B.A. in English from Yale.
MACKENZIE TUITE Production Manager
Mackenzie is our Production Manager who is responsible for uploading all new inventory to the site, including auction works, fair preview works, as well as marketing assets, such as site promotions and landing page banners. Originally from Philadelphia, Mackenzie has 5 years experience working in production at e-commerce startups and was previously Production Designer at fab.com.
KAREN VANEGAS Manager, Partner Relations
Karen came to Artspace in 2013 with years of experience in art communications, retail, and e-commerce operations. She manages existing relationships with Artspace’s growing list of Gallery, Museum, Non-profit, and artist partners and assists with identifying and developing new partnerships. Prior to joining Artspace, she held positions at artnet and The Conran Shop. She holds a BA in Art History from Florida International University.
FRANK VICTORINO Software Engineer, Front-End
Frank is a software engineer with a focus on front-end web technologies. He has over 10 years of software development, animation, and design experience working with bond traders, entertainment companies, medical practices, educational organizations, and ecommerce businesses. Frank received his BS in Computer Science and BA in Graphic Arts from St. Peter's University.
