WHITNEY MAXWELL Managing Director
Whitney comes to Artspace after a two year position at Blouin Artinfo where she worked in both online ad sales and digital marketing. Prior to her role there, she was a project manager for Novo Arts, an art production group devoted to making art accessible to businesses and public spaces. She has also worked with several top galleries in New York, and alongside a private dealer for 2 years before receiving her Masters. She has a BA in Art History from St. Lawrence University and MA in Art Business from the Sotheby's Institute of Art.
AMANDA KNUPPEL Private Sales Director
Amanda brings specialized experience in the contemporary art world to her role at Artspace. As Private Sales Director, Amanda seeks to provide private clients and trade partners with personalized insight and guidance gained from nearly a decade working in esteemed New York City galleries, including Van Doren Waxter, Koenig & Clinton, and Alexander Gray Associates, among others. She earned her B.A. degrees in Art History and Journalism from New York University.
LONEY ABRAMS Editor-in-Chief
Loney Abrams is an artist, writer, and curator living in Queens, NY. She has written for publications like The New Inquiry, Rhizome, Hopes&Fears, and many others before becoming Artspace’s Market Editor. She is the co-director of hotel-art.us, a roaming curatorial initiative aimed at online audiences. As an artist, she works collaboratively with Johnny Stanish.
EMILY JOHNSON Collector Services Manager
Emily joined Artspace as the Collector Services Manager in 2017. Her interest in art started at an early age and matured into previously held gallery positions at Robin Rice Gallery and Shrine. Emily currently holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from Fordham University.
KAREN VANEGAS Manager, Director of Operations
Karen came to Artspace in 2013 with a background in art communications, retail, and e-commerce operations. She oversees partnerships and inventory management. Prior to joining Artspace, she held positions at artnet and The Conran Shop. She holds a BA in Art History from Florida International University.
