Bhakti Baxter

Miami-based artist Bhakti Baxter works in a wide-ranging and ever evolving style, experimenting with various mediums including mixed media, sculptural assemblages and sculpture. His subject matter is equally undefined, alternating between abstract concepts and naturalistic painted portraits. Working within the intersection of science and spirituality, Baxter addresses the symmetry, geometry, ritual and organic process of these complex themes. Says the artist, "In art, one plus one can equal three any time—when two things come together, magic can happen.”

Baxter was a co-founder of The House, a now defunct alternative art space that launched his career as well as Martin Oppel and Tao Rey. He has exhibited in the U.S. and internationally including solo shows at the Museum of Contemporary Art, North Miami, Bravin Lee programs, New York, Fredric Snitzer Gallery, Miami, Florida, Galerie Emmanuel Perrotin, Paris, France, Federica Schiavo Gallery, Rome, and Gallery Diet, Miami.
