Cynthia Ona Innis

Cynthia Ona Innis's work mimics the fluid transformations that occur in nature. A painter and sculptor, Innis is known for her organic abstract creations. Working with materials including satin, velvet, and vinyl fabrics and acrylic paint on canvas, wood panel, and paper, she creates sculptural works with biomorphic qualities, and often sexual undertones. Her paintings are composed of serene earth tones: burnt umbers, light pinks, and browns.

Innis lives and works out of Southern California, and has received the San Francisco Arts Commission Honorarium and the James D. Phelan Award in printmaking, among many others awards and recognitions for her work. Her mother was a floral designer, which may have influenced her affinity for the natural form.
