Ehling/Bennett

Jeremy Ehling and Kim Bennett have worked collaboratively since 2014. Their backgrounds influence their artistic practice, Ehling having worked in stained glass conservation and Bennett coming from a family of quilters. Their process consists in stitching and painting by alternating turns. They describe their process and the works as “rectangle conversations.” In their words,

"Talking is part of it, sitting outside is part of it.  Leaves falling are part of it. Finding a relationship to the ways people used to make things is part of it."

Kim Bennett has exhibited at Stephen Wirtz Gallery,

Conduit Gallery in Dallas, TX,

and Pied-à-terre in San Francisco, as well as Interface Gallery in Oakland. She received a Creative Time commission and a Toby Devan Lewis Fellowship.

Jeremy Ehling has exhibited with 100%, YBCA & Et al. He is the founder of STABLE, an exhibition program operating out of a horse stable.
