Ginger Brooks Takahashi

Ginger Brooks Takahashi earned a BA from Oberlin College and participated in the Whitney Independent Study Program in 2007. She lives and works in Brooklyn and is a cofounder of LTTR, a queer and feminist art journal. For the year 2008-09, she is a resident artist at the Smack Mellon gallery in Brooklyn. She often focuses on queer, feminist, and social issues and politics in her artwork. On view at the New Museum in 2008, Takahashi's ongoing project an army of lovers cannot fail is a quilt sewn by participants from the many different spaces, art galleries, bookstores, and parties at which it has been installed.
