Jan Albers

Hovering between abstraction and figuration, Jan Albers constructs works marked by bold colors and strong lines. His series of drawings, Sonnenlicht (2007-ongoing), features flowing, rhythmic arabesques and sharp strokes that mimic the sun's energetic rays. Frequently half-formed figuration is concealed by Albers's abstraction, inviting the viewer to closely examine his works. Albers has exhibited at a number of institutions including the Chelsea Art Museum, the San Antonio Museum of Art, and Palazzo delle Papesse Centro Arte Contemporanea in Siena.
