Katharina Fengler

Katharina Fengler’s intensely colored abstractions are often painted on uneven surfaces–such as airbrushed Tyvek paintings or painted salt dough wall installations. The textured contours of these materials help highlight and reflect gradations of color, creating an aesthetic that teeters between hyper-realism and digital simulation.

She has had solo exhibitions at Acappella in Naples, CACTUS contemporary art space, Liverpool, Raum für Kunst in Lucerne, and Galerie Kai Hoelzner in Berlin. Her work has been exhibited in group exhibitions at institutions such as Centre Pompidou in Paris, Kunstverein Schwerin, and Istituto Svizzero in Milan.
