Kristian Sturi

Central to the practice of Italian artist Kristian Sturi is the continual juxtaposition of materials. In one of his projects, Less Is Gold, “Sturi plays with the famous words of Van der Rohe, from paintings executed with colored smoke, plastic packaging, preprinted canvas to ceramics made with the pastry bag, most united by a gold detail.” Pushing the conceptual and physical properties of his materials, Sturi’s anarchical practice plays with classical style and unconventional process.

Sturi’s work has been shown in exhibitions around Europe including Galleria Comunale d’Arte Contemporanea, Monfalcone, Nam Project, Milan, Palazzo Botton, Castellamonte, Spazio A. Grunder, Gorizia, Project Room Antiche Mura, Monfalcone, and Casa Testori Museum, Novate Milanese, Milan, among others.
