MK Guth's multidisciplinary artwork shifts the familiar and the everyday into an altered reality, often challenging our collective mythology that is based in traditional fables and stories as well as popular culture propagated by mass media. For instance, her ongoing project Red Shoe Delivery Service began with the hypothesis, "What if Dorothy's ruby slippers did not just take you to Kansas?" She and several artists formed a collective to make "art that moves you," picking up passengers in a van, having them don red glittered shoes, and delivering them to their destination. In her interactive projects Our Rapunzal and the way I see you the way you see me, Guth transformed the fairy tale into room-scale installations with audience performances, combining the myth with social realities.

Guth has exhibited with numerous galleries and museums, including the Whitney Museum, Artists Space in New York, and San Francisco's Yerba Buena Center for the Arts, and her videos have been screened all over the world. She has also received project commissions from the Portland Institute for the Arts and the Melbourne International Film Festival.
