W. Dieter Zander

W. Dieter Zander's paintings reflect a long and rich involvement in the arts going back to and including an extraordinary involvement in the U.S. Army program of art reclamation and restitution from the salt mines of Austria following the Second World War. He has lived and worked in Germany, Austria, France, and the United States, where he was strongly influenced by the German Expressionistic Movement, especially the works of Oskar Kokoschka, Emil Nolde, E. L. Kirchner, Vasily Kandinsky, August Macke, and Franz Marc. He was also influenced by the French artist, Nicholas de Stael.

Dieter Zander works in both oil and acrylic. Over the last 25 years, he has sold 248 paintings, many to repeat buyers, which are held in private and corporate collections in the US, France, Germany, and Australia. Some of the collectors have more than ten Zander paintings in their collection.

His paintings have been exhibited in various New York galleries, including juried shows, where he has received awards. His work has appeared in Veranda magazine.
