Andrea Respino

Andrea Respino lives and works in Turin, Italy. His work focuses on painting. In 2018 he wrote a short story, Children’s Games (Possible drafts for a tribute to Bruegel), conceived for the reading taken in New York at ISCP, International Studio & Curatorial Program, in collaboration with the Turin-based artist Sara Enrico and Brooklyn-based artist and musician Byron Westbrook. The story is the first work signed as Andrea Respino, after a collaboration running since 2007 with Davide Gennarino, as a duo called Alis/Filliol. As Alis/Filliol, they have had solo exhibitions at Fondazione Arnaldo Pomodoro, Milan, Italy (2017); Pinksummer, Genoa, Italy (2016); Istituto Italiano di Cultura, Paris, France (2016); MEF Museo Ettore Fico, Turin, Italy (2015); GAM, Galleria d’Arte Moderna and Contemporanea, Turin, Italy (2014); Fondazione Sandretto Re Rebaudengo, Turin, Italy (2013); Pinksummer, Genoa, Italy (2012); Basilica di Santa Maria Maggiore, Bergamo, Italy (2012); Cripta747, Turin, Italy (2010); blank, Turin, Italy (2010). Their works have also been shown in several group exhibitions, including: Intuition, Palazzo Fortuny, Venice, Italy (2017); Être chose, Ile de Vassivière, France (2015); Codice Italia, 56° Biennale di Venezia, Italy (2015) and Le statue calde.
