Jonathan Chapline

Blurring the boundaries between rendered and painted, digital and analog, flat and sculptural, Jonathan Chapline's luminescent works in painting and sculpture draw on and represent classical still life motifs but with a vibrant, contemporary twist. His works are also heavily influenced by the aesthetics of early computer-generated imagery and computer-appropriated images. Employing techniques such as the use of colour gradients to represent spatial relationships between forms, it's often difficult to distinguish what is painting and what is sculpture when it comes to Chapline's work.

Chapline has recently exhibited at Volta 14 in Basel, Switzerland and Victori + Mo in New York. His work has been featured in publications such as The New Yorker, ArtMaze Magazine, and New American Paintings.
