Karen Seapker

Karen Seapker's paintings utilize gesture and color to explore ideas of tangibility, passage, and space. With a bold color palette and forms spanning the spectrum between abstraction and figuration, her work is drawn from personal experience and incorporate larger themes pulled from our cultural and political environment. Seapker holds an MFA in Painting from Hunter College in NYC. Solo shows include exhibitions at James Cohan Gallery, Lipscomb University, Zeitgeist Gallery, and Sewanee: The University of the South. Her work has also been included in exhibitions at the Andy Warhol Museum, Watkins College of Art, Whitespace Gallery, and a ZieherSmith pop-up space, among other national and international shows.
