Rosie Gilligan

With a touch of deliberate naiveté Rosie Gilligan’s paintings strive to amplify the influences of chaos in our modern existence. Reducing the composition to a flat plane, color and shape take hold, representing the balance of calm and complexity. Flat tones, uneven lines strip back the depth and veer the painted subjects into abstraction. A subtle tension is established in each work, as the myriad of clean graphic shape, and simplicity become an altered state in which color transposes.
