Tom Forkin

Tom Forkin primarily uses materials like clay and glaze to make scenes in relief. Many of his works depict desolate cobblestone streets, skyscrapers, and a single figure, foregrounded. His muted color pallet and irregularly shaped works encourage the viewer to imagine the scene expanding into the space that surrounds it, while their small scales (generally under a foot in any direction) foster an intimate viewing experience.

Forkin has had work exhibited at the Museum Gallery in Brooklyn, Hotel Art Pavilion in Brooklyn, Motel in Brooklyn, Shoot the Lobster in New York, and Pratt Institute in Brooklyn.
