MacArthur Geniuses

The MacArthur Foundation is one of the largest and most prestigious private foundations in the US, having awarded more than $6 billion since its first grants in 1978. Though they support individuals and institutions in a wide range of fields, their “Genius Grants”—$625,000 no-strings-attached awards given to roughly two dozen creative individuals annually—have become a marker of exceptional achievement for artists. Here, we’ve put together works by artists who have won the prestigious award. Collect a MacArthur “Genius” today, here on Artspace.
