Exclusive Co-launch: Artspace Presents a New Limited Edition by Rico Gatson
Artspace, in partnership with the Lincoln Center, is pleased to offer a stunning limited-edition print by acclaimed New York-based artist Rico Gatson. Titled Untitled (Collective Light Power), this exclusive piece mirrors Gatson's current installation of the same name that covers the entire concourse at New York Penn Station.
About the Work
Inspired by the annual installation of the grand disco ball overlooking Lincoln Center's Revson Fountain, Rico Gatson's limited edition features mesmerizing concentric circles and dynamic lines, capturing the essence of urban energy and innovation.
Rico Gatson is a multimedia visual artist whose work explores themes of history, identity, popular culture, jazz and bebop music, and spirituality. His work has been exhibited nationally and internationally, including exhibitions at The Studio Museum in Harlem, NY; The Whitney Museum of American Art, NY; The Essl Museum, Austria, Vienna and The Smithsonian American Art Museum in Washington, D.C.

Rico Gatson at New York Penn Station
Located in the Upper-Level Main Rotunda between the 8th Avenue Amtrak Departure Concourse and 7th Avenue NJ TRANSIT Concourse, Rico Gatson's installation Untitled (Collective Light Transfer) features a series of shapes and vibrant colors that convey a type of rhythmic movement and light up the usually-gloomy space. On view through summer 2024, this installation is part of Art at Amtrak, an Amtrak initiative that commissions exhibitions by artists from New York and New Jersey.
