Damian Stamer

Damian Stamer’s works examines the landscape he explored as a child in rural North Carolina. He uses the pastoral imagery of his childhood to construct interpretations of memory, time, and space. His almost abstract drawings originate from memories of farms, pastures and forests. He utilizes different tools to accomplish brush strokes, splashes and drips that characterize his paintings.

He has been exhibited in solo and group shows in cities like New York, Santa Fe, Berlin, Philadelphia, and Budapest, to name a few. He has also been the recipient of many awards such as NC Art Council Art Fellowship, the Jacob K. Javits Fellowship and the Rotary Ambassadorial Scholarship.
