About The Work

Norwegian artist Eline McGeorge’s works explore science fictional narratives that span time and space. In Companion Species, Emergency Weave, the artist has woven a tapestry using space blankets (which are made of heat-reflective thin plastic sheeting and are often used in emergency situations) and inkjet prints. The work is as speculative as it is beautiful, inviting the viewer to imagine a world where utilitarian, survival products assume the aura and preciousness of prized heirlooms or collector's items.
