    About The Work

While living in New York City, artist Flo Maak felt her experience was largely influenced and dictated by the urban center’s grid-like plan. In order to be off the grid, she turned to photographing often overlooked, everyday details. Here, the spinning blades of a fan are simply pictured above a large, illuminated light bulb, thus only alluding to the sounds, heat, and action of one warm evening in the city.
