About The Work

By incorporating a wide range of media and programming styles in his software, John F. Simon Jr. makes it possible to combine the central aspects of his artistic practice—coding and drawing. This work is part of series that features original software written by Simon displayed on flat panel LCD screens mounted to acrylic plastic housing. As wall units, the pieces function as constantly evolving "paintings." Because the pieces are software based, the visual elements are generated in real time and continually vary.
