NIGHT SHADE is a collection of handmade tabletop objects using the sgraffito technique. Liquid slip is applied to a handbuilt ceramic object in contrasting colors (in this case, black and cream), before the surface is scratched away to create a design or pattern. Imagery for this series was inspired by both historic runes and contemporary logos, juxtaposing ancient pottery tropes with current cultural trends.
All objects in this collection are 100% stoneware and glazes are completely non-toxic and food safe. While some objects may be dishwasher safe, we always recommend hand-washing handmade ceramic.
