    About The Work

    Arrechea’s work is imbued with architectural references steeped in history and personal experience. The playful buildings are transformed into tops - spinning toys – or “dancing lovers” as defined by the artist, asserting a new identity for the buildings themselves . Movement, grace and humor are present. The unexpected and purposeless shaped edifices establish a contrast between the homemade and the fabricated, the public and the private, and at the same time present the pleasure of a new purpose.
