    About The Work

Anja Kirschner and David Panos collaborate on narrative film installations that combine historical material and contemporary issues. This print was produced to accompany The Last Days of Jack Sheppard, their 2009 film commission at Chisenhale Gallery. The film is based on the inferred prison encounters between 18th century criminal Jack Sheppard and Daniel Defoe, the ghostwriter of Sheppard’s autobiography. Here, various elements of the film are brought together to create a dreamlike portrait of the film’s protagonists.
